Part-Time Parish Administrator
St. Anne’s Anglican Church Byron is seeking a friendly, organized, dependable, and community-minded individual to serve as our Part-Time Parish Administrator.
The Parish Administrator plays an important role in supporting the ministry and day-to-day operations of the parish. This position provides administrative, communication, organizational, and facility support while helping to ensure that St. Anne’s remains a welcoming and well-organized place for parishioners, community members, renters, and visitors.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Wardens, Incumbent, Parish Council, volunteers, and other parish leaders.
Position Details
● Part-time, in-person position, possible 1 day at home
● 20 hours per week
● Hours are generally scheduled during weekdays, with some flexibility required
● Occasional additional hours may be required for special services, meetings, or parish events
● The position is based at St. Anne’s Anglican Church Byron
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
Parish Administration
● Manage the parish office and respond to phone, email, and in-person inquiries
● Serve as a welcoming first point of contact for parishioners, community members, renters, visitors, and service providers
● Maintain parish records, files, databases, and administrative systems
● Coordinate calendars, meetings, room bookings, and facility rentals
● Prepare correspondence, forms, reports, and other administrative documents
● Order office and parish supplies as required Communications
● Prepare weekly bulletins, announcements, newsletters, and other parish communications
● Maintain and update the parish calendar
● Assist with maintaining the parish website and social media communications
● Communicate parish information to members, volunteers, committees, and community partners Financial and Administrative Support
● Provide administrative support related to invoices, payments, deposits, and financial records
● Work collaboratively with the Treasurer and Wardens regarding financial administration
● Maintain appropriate confidentiality regarding parish financial and personal information
Parish and Facility Support
● Assist clergy, wardens, parish committees, and volunteers with administrative needs
● Coordinate with custodial staff, contractors, and service providers as required
● Assist with preparations for meetings, worship services, seasonal activities, and parish events
● Support the administration of facility rentals and communication with rental groups
● Help ensure that the church office and administrative areas are organized and operating smoothly
● Identify areas of concern and support the well being of the church and hall buildings.
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate will have:
● Strong organizational and administrative skills
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
● Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, and common office technology
● Strong attention to detail and accuracy
● The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines
● Professionalism, discretion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality
● Strong interpersonal skills and a welcoming, service-oriented approach
● Experience with bookkeeping or financial administration is an asset
● Experience with website or social media administration is an asset
● Previous experience in a church, nonprofit, community organization, or similar setting is an asset
● Familiarity with Anglican parish life is beneficial but not required
● A criminal background check is required

Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.
