Worship Services

St Anne's has suspended in-person worship services as of April 3, 2021 due to the Provincewide Shutdown.

We will continue to offer our virtual services for all who are more comfortable staying at home, or who perhaps just want to hear the hymns sung. Should you require entry to the church or hall, please contact a Warden. As we look ahead to online worship during the months of June, July and August, as noted earlier we will be taking some Sundays off to allow for something of a relaxed schedule for both those contributing to and compiling the Sunday worship service. Our Sunday online services will take place on the following Sundays - June 6th, 20th; July 4th, 18th; August 1st, 15th, 29th. As before, we are all encouraged to visit other services, during our off weeks to enjoy the richness and diversity of all the creative expressions that is happening in worship in these curious days of Covid.

Given the newly released details of reopening in Ontario, the Diocese is permitting churches to re-open as soon as June 13th with 15% capacity. Provincial guidelines suggest reopening would allow for 25% capacity in Step 2 and the Diocese will issue guidelines at that time of moving into the next phase of reopening. As noted elsewhere, Canon Val will be away from June 10-26 and Parish Council has recommended a gradual reopening in person on an every-other-week schedule beginning Sunday, July 11th with online services beginning on alternate Sundays. This would mean that we would gather in-person at 9:30am on July 11 and 25, August 8 and 22, and September 5th. Preregistration would still be required and more details will follow about that next week. As we know, everything depends on the public health situation at the time of entering each Step. As we know more, we will share it. Please watch for details.

Continue to pray for all those impacted by the virus and its ripple effect on work and home lives.

Worship Services will continue to be posted to this page after our return to worship in the church. Previous services and sermons are also available.

Please continue to keep in touch and pray for one another as we navigate these challenging and uncertain times together. Please do not hesitate to be in touch as needed.

Yours in Christ,
Canon Val and the Wardens of St Anne's

Please note that unless otherwise noted, sermons are preached by St. Anne's incumbent rector, Reverend Canon Valerie Kenyon.  Visit our Sermon Archive for previous recordings of sermons and services.

Takeaway for Sunday, June 20, 2021

Collect for Sunday, June 20, 2021

Creator God, from you every family in heaven and earth takes its name. You have rooted and grounded us in your covenant love, and empowered us by your Spirit to speak the truth in love, and to walk in your way towards justice and wholeness. Mercifully grant that your people, journey together in partnership, may be strengthened and guided to help one another to grow into the full stature of Christ, who is our light and our life. Amen.

Over the past weeks we have heard a lot about finding ways to walk towards justice and wholeness. Every journey, every path, begins with single steps. How have you been changed and what are your next steps?
